Community Outreach Worker (part-time) • 21 hours pw • £18,000 inc. OLW + 8% pension

Background

Since 1980, Newham Monitoring Project (NMP) has become one of the country's most respected independent anti-racist and civil injustice organisations. We provide immediate and specialist casework support to people, including a 24-hour emergency helpline, and monitor the response of statutory bodies to ensure fair and equal treatment. NMP also undertakes community outreach work including provision of training with local communities.

Post

Post to start immediately, 4 year fixed term post (subject to availability of funding). Possibility of continuation of post after end of grant cycle.

We are seeking a dynamic individual with excellent organisational and communication skills, experience of the voluntary and community sectors and a positive commitment to furthering an anti-racist agenda. This post will primarily involve developing partnerships and provision of training to strengthen the capacity of community and youth groups across east London in relation to race equality and awareness of legal rights.

Postholder required to satisfy CRB enhanced disclosure check.
